KMC Business Model is developed on the foundation of propelling economic sustainability in the Konkan Region of Maharashtra. The model aims to bring about USD 500 billion benefits to the people of Konkan. Best price for milk, socio-economic development, improved health of dairy farmers and milch animals, participation in nation-building, sense of entrepreneurship, self-management, and enhanced quality of life are some of the benefits that the USD 500 billion KMC business model offers to the dairy farmers. Collecting the milk from dairy farmers through the collection centers and processing it at an ultramodern processing unit converting to various milk products would be the chief function of this model.

Nitish Janardan Thakur - a commerce graduate from Mumbai University – is the founder of KMC Business Model. With almost 7 years of experience in working at a local bank. Apart from his employment, he was also keen to qualify the State Civil Services Examination, that would get him the post of Deputy collector for the Government of India.  However, the exam was ranked as one of the toughest exams as the post is offered to the top 10 candidates selected from over 300,000 examinees.

Seven years of hard work paid off to Nitish Thakur when in 1992, he was ranked 10th and was appointed as Government Section Officer in the Department of Rural Development, Maharashtra. In 1993, Nitish finally achieved his dream when he was promoted to Deputy Collector (of taxes) with the Revenue & Forest Department of the Government of Mantralaya, Mumbai. Nitish Thakur has been given various letters for commendation for his exemplary services.

As the Thakur family, through a family trust, was working on the various philanthropic enterprise for the development of certain real estate projects in Mumbai, to join these projects, Nitish Thakur resigned from his post in 2003. These projects were commercially viable and aim for providing safe, modern and no-cost housing facilities for 800,000 low-income residents. Nitish Thakur is successfully supporting his family in this philanthropic endeavor.
